Building a Culture of Personal and
Organizational Development in GIM

Leadership: The design and implementation of messages, strategies, processes, and structures to facilitate social influence.1

Developing and maintaining a thriving culture that supports and enhances both personal and organizational development fosters a work environment that promotes individual and team drive, growth, and joy in one’s work. Building and sustaining such a culture to the degree that it becomes ingrained in GIM is an ongoing challenge for emerging and established leaders. Success is building a culture of development that can elevate the work and impact of GIM and unleash our individual and organizational potential.

This year’s institute covered important related topics:

  • Developing and sustaining high performing teams
  • Leading for Wellness at Work
  • Building and supporting a culture of retention and promotion
  • You’ve Increased Diversity, You Enhanced Inclusion, Now What?
  • Coach approach 2.0

If you were not able to join us at the 2022 Leon Hess Management Training and Leadership Institute you can access session slides and handouts here.

The Institute is designed as a resource for anyone in or pursuing a leadership role, including Division Chiefs, Hospital Medicine Directors, Associate Chiefs, Section Heads, Administrators, and other leaders in divisions of GIM and Hospital Medicine. Please consider sponsoring a colleague/s to join you next year.
