Why Give?
SGIM is a community like no other; each member can find an interest and other members who share that interest. Every SGIM member belongs. Join your colleagues who have already made an impact by making a gift today. Every contribution helps us do more – for the next generation of academic general internists, for many of our other programs, and for the future of GIM more broadly. Our community needs your help.
Ways to Give
By supporting SGIM, you’re investing in the future of general internal medicine. Here are five ways YOU can make an impact:
Where to Give: SGIM Funds
Your gift to the SGIM Annual Fund allows leadership to direct resources where they’re needed most to advance SGIM’s mission—cultivating innovative educators, researchers, and clinicians in academic general internal medicine. Gifts support new initiatives, leadership development, mentoring, networking, and the ability to respond swiftly to emerging challenges in our field.
A gift to the Future Leaders of GIM Fund helps ensure tomorrow’s general internists can access SGIM’s vibrant community and opportunities. This fund provides scholarships for membership and annual meeting registration for medical students, residents, and fellows—introducing them to a collaborative network that supports growth, exploration, and success.
The Unified Leadership Training for Diversity (UNLTD) Program, coordinated by the Association of Chiefs and Leaders in GIM, fosters diversity in academic internal medicine through leadership development for junior and senior faculty. The program emphasizes mentorship, a structured curriculum, management training, and experiential fellowships.
SGIM honors John Goodson’s legacy of cultivating future health policy leaders through the John Goodson LEAHP Scholarship, awarded annually to one or two incoming LEAHP scholars. This funding enables recipients to conduct meaningful projects while developing expertise as health policy advocates, educators, and leaders in clinical practice.
In Appreciation
SGIM and ACLGIM gratefully acknowledge and recognize the impact of our many donors. Your generous support allows us to build a stronger professional community and ensure the future of academic general internal medicine. Thank you for helping us fund and grow our top priority areas such as leadership development, mentoring, networking, health policy, and engagement with trainees.
