Mid-Atlantic Leadership Nominations

The President‐Elect will participate in regional officer activities, including serving on the Regional Meeting Planning Committee and other activities relevant to the region. The President will be responsible for annual regional activities and will also become a member of the Board of Regional Leaders. Term: three years.

The Secretary/Treasurer will assist with the organization of the Regional Meeting, monitor regional finances (with a report at the regional meeting), keep accurate minutes of monthly conference calls, and act as liaison with other regional organizations. Term: two years.

The Membership Chair (Elect) leads regional efforts to promote SGIM membership, particularly through regional institutional outreach. Responsibilities include serving as an active member of the national Membership Committee by participating in monthly calls and regularly contributing to national membership recruitment/retention efforts, strategizing and implementing ways to promote SGIM and spearhead in-person membership recruitment at the regional meeting, and recruiting planning committee volunteers. Term: two years.

To further SGIM's commitment to DEI, the regional DEI champion will work with regional leadership, the regional meeting planning committee, and national SGIM leadership in DEI and anti-racism to define opportunities and implement DEI initiatives. In partnership with the DEI Chair, will develop communication and submission review plans to solicit submissions promoting innovation and idea-sharing around social medicine, health disparities, and workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion. Estimated time is 2-3 hours per month. Term: two years.
