Biography

Dr. Taru Saigal is an Assistant Professor-Clinical at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, specializing in General Internal Medicine and Gender-Affirming Care. She is dedicated to advancing patient care, medical education, and research, emphasizing innovation in healthcare delivery for underserved populations and leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Dr. Saigal is committed to bridging language barriers for patients with limited English proficiency, as exemplified by the Language Concordant Care program she designed. She is also recognized for her clinical care and research in LGBTQIA+ health and her leadership in medical education. She collaborates with regional nonprofit organizations serving Bhutanese refugees and actively engages with her city government to promote DEI and accessibility initiatives.

As the DEI Chair-elect for the Midwest SGIM region, Dr. Saigal strongly believes that embedding DEI in our mission will enhance health equity for patients and ensure equity in professional development for healthcare professionals.
