Shobhina Chheda, MD, MPH

Shobhina G. Chheda, MD, MPH, serves as the associate dean for medical education at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, where she has also practiced as a general internist for 24 years.

In her role as associate dean for medical education, Chheda is responsible for the overall strategic development and management of curriculum and assessment for medical students. Chheda is currently the principal investigator on a four-year Wisconsin Partnership Program grant entitled Transforming Medical Education 2023-2027: Building a Collective for Innovation, Scholarship, and Research in Undergraduate Medical Education (CISR-UME).

Chheda has been a leader in medical education locally and nationally. She was a founding member of the national Society of General Internal Medicine TEACH program and is now a member of the MedEd Scholars program for faculty development, and has served on the SGIM Council. She has served as chair of the board and as the past president of the National Alliance of Academic Internal Medicine. She is also president of the Aquifer Consortium.

Chheda received her undergraduate degree in nutritional biochemistry from Cornell University and her medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She received her master’s in public health at Saint Louis University School of Public Health and completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency at Cornell University Medical College/North Shore University Hospital.
