Biography
Madhav Sharma, MD, FACP, is an academic hospitalist in Massachusetts. He is a faculty member in the internal medicine residency programs at Saint Vincent Hospital and MetroWest Medical Center and works part-time at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He teaches residents and medical students and is actively involved in quality improvement, patient safety, and medical education. He completed his internal medicine residency at BronxCare Health System, an affiliate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Before residency, he conducted interventional cardiology research at Mount Sinai, contributing to studies involving TAVR and antithrombotic therapy.
His work in health systems improvement includes developing a dedicated website for his hospital medicine program to streamline clinician onboarding and provide easier access to essential clinical and operational resources. He has also served on several advisory councils of the Society of Hospital Medicine. He is an active member of the Society of General Internal Medicine, Society of Hospital Medicine, American Medical Association, and American College of Physicians. His professional interests include hospital medicine, cardiovascular outcomes, health systems improvement, and practical education for general internists.
