Biography

Kristin Furfari, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM). She was a graduate of CUSOM and completed her residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Colorado.  She works clinically as a hospitalist at University of Colorado Hospital.

Dr. Furfari has a passion for medical education and has received the Golden Stethoscope award for medical education.  She is the co-director of the health systems science pillar for CUSOM—a longitudinal component of the medical school curriculum that teaches students about individual, community, socio-ecological, and systems factors that impact patient and family well-being, using a health equity lens.

She has completed a Master’s in Healthcare Ethics and currently serves as the medical director of the University of Colorado Hospital ethics consult service, the director of ethics education at CUSOM, and the founder of the Ethics Ambassador Program.
