Biography

Hadeel Alkhairw is the Chief Quality Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/ Elmhurst and the Clinical Director of the Safety Net Clinic and the Street Outreach and Wellness Program. She holds a master’s in quality and safety Management and advanced certifications in Healthcare Analytics, High Reliability, Physician Leadership, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Dr. Hadeel Alkhairw is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her career focus is redesigning healthcare delivery to provide high-value, equitable care, promoting physician well-being, and advocating for improving graduate medical education curricula.

Dr. Hadeel Alkhairw received the SGIM Quality and Innovation Award in 2023. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and was elected President of the Society of General Internal Medicine Mid-Atlantic in 2024.

Dr. Hadeel is an immigrant from Iraq; she received her medical degree from the Al-Mustansiriyah School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Flushing Hospital. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine.
