Biography

Dr. Erica Swanson is a general internist currently serving as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Indiana University. She was born in St. Louis, MO and received her Bachelors of Arts in Chemistry and medical degree at University of Missouri-Kansas City. She completed her residency training and served as ambulatory chief resident at Indiana University. Her practice consists of mainly primary care with some hospital-based medicine at the VA in Indianapolis. She has wide clinical interests, including HIV primary care, medical education, women’s health, and care for LGBTQIA+ patients. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Swanson is involved in medical education, serving as a foundations of clinical practice facilitator, resident and medical student preceptor, and Patient Care Competency Director for the medical school.
