Biography

Cynthia Chuang, MD, MSc, is a Professor of Medicine and Public Health Sciences at the Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Chuang completed her MD at NYU School of Medicine, Internal Medicine residency/chief residency at Temple University Hospital, and General Internal Medicine fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine. She is a general internist, primary care provider, and health services researcher with a principal research interest in developing evidence to enhance reproductive well-being. Her work has been funded by the NIH, PCORI, and AHRQ.

Dr. Chuang served as Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine (2016-2022), where she proudly led a thriving division of academic physicians and scientists. In recognition of her success as division chief, she was awarded the Association of Chiefs and Leaders in General Internal Medicine “Chief’s Recognition Award” in 2022 based on nomination by her division faculty for excellence leadership.
