Dr. Sankey has spent over two decades engineering the systems that develop academic hospitalists at Yale, and he brings that same precision to this program. As director of Yale’s academic Program in Hospital Medicine, program director of the Adult Hospital Medicine Fellowship, and co-chief of Yale’s Hospital Medicine Firm, he understands how academic careers are built from the inside out. His work in mentorship, sponsorship, and coaching, including serving as a physician coach for Yale medical students, reflects a commitment to the relational infrastructure that careers depend on. His focus on DEI, clinical case publication, and educational innovation ensures that the hospitalists he develops are not just skilled, but impactful.
