Blake Barker, MD

Dr. Blake Barker is a clinician-educator and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his BA at Rice University and MD at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University. He joined the faculty of UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2011 where he has served as Co-Director of the Internal Medicine Clerkship before joining the medical school’s Office of Student Affairs in 2017 as an Associate Dean.

He is an active outpatient general internist and attends on the wards as well. In addition to mentoring and advising students, he co-directs an MS4 elective for students interested in medical education.

In 2012, he attended his first Southern and National SGIM meetings, which have since become his professional home. He has served in several leadership roles in the Southern Region and now as Co-Chair of the Board of Regional Leaders.
