OMB Proposes Major Overhaul of Federal Grant and Financial Assistance Rules
On May 29, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) published a proposed rule that would make sweeping changes to the current government-wide framework that governs grants, cooperative agreements, and other forms of federal financial assistance across agencies. OMB says the proposal is intended to increase transparency and accountability, clarify the legal status and implementation of government-wide grant requirements, and reduce administrative complexity for agencies and funding recipients.
