Applications Open: Southwest SGIM Regional Emerging Leader Scholarship

The SGIM Southwest Region is currently accepting applications for the Regional Emerging Leader Scholarship, supporting medical students, residents and fellows, and junior faculty who want to build leadership skills and get more involved in General Internal Medicine.

Who can apply: Medical students, residents and fellows, and junior faculty within five years of completing residency or fellowship training.

Awards: Up to four scholarships (at least one junior faculty, at least one trainee), $500 each, based on need and available funding.

Membership: Junior faculty must have an active SGIM membership at the time of application. Trainee recipients who are not members must join SGIM before receiving the award.

Applications will be available on August 28, 2026.
Applications are due by November 16, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.
