2023 Southern Regional Meeting Call for Submissions

Submission Deadline has passed.

Submissions for the SGIM Southern Regional Meeting are now being accepted. Submission categories addressing the area of clinical/scientific interest to generalists are welcome: Five distinct types of submissions may be submitted for peer review:

  • Workshops (60 minute format): Should aim to promote the knowledge base and enhance the professional development of general internists.

  • Scientific Abstracts: Report the results of orginal research and must contain data (either quantitative or qualitative) and report research results.

  • Clinical Vignettes: Patient-related cases and scenarios that have eductional value for a wider audience.

  • Innovations: Descriptions of medical practice innovations, quality improvement projects, or educational innovations with teaching points related to education or efficient use of resources, or CQI. In general, innovations conatin fewer research methods and data than research abstracts.

  • Arts & Humanities: Submissions of visual art (hand or computer-generated), fiction or non-fiction narrative and poetry. Submissions addressing areas pertinent to general internal medicine (GIM) that either a) relfect on the challenge of the past year or b) share your artistic talents in a joyful way!

You do not need to be a member of SGIM in order to submit. We strongly encourage submissions from students, residents, and fellows!

  • Enter all required information, including your responses to the questions regarding external funding.
  • Create your user name and password

Already have a Scholar One Account?

  • If you already have an account with ScholarOne (and your email address has not changed sine your account was established) you can login to the system with your previously set up user name and password.
  • If you have an account but are not sure of your password, click on the Forgot Password link on the right side of the screen of the submission site and your password will be emailed to you.
  • If your email changed since your account was established, contact the SGIM Office at to update your account with your new email address. You will be sent your username and a link to reset your password.
  • Verify all information and/or complete any missing Disclosure Information
