Clinical Updates in Perioperative Medicine

Course Description

This is a recorded session from the SGIM 2026 Annual Meeting.

This update will focus on key areas within perioperative and consultative medicine including cardiovascular care, pulmonary risk, hematologic management, and other aspects of perioperative care. Each area will be presented by a different author and will cover two to four of the most relevant publications from the past year. Publications will be identified by performing a comprehensive literature review, with authors selecting the most important papers through a voting process. Each paper will be presented within the context of a patient care scenario, and authors will provide practical advice on how to apply the paper’s findings to patient care, as well as address common questions arising from the changes to practice that may result from the new literature.
