Public Health Training Directory

This database includes Internal Medicine residency programs that offer specialized training in domestic public health topics.  Programs listed here have self-identified as having special educational tracks, elective rotations in public health, or primary care tracks that emphasize community health.

Here the term “public health” includes population or community health, healthcare for vulnerable populations, health disparities, social determinants of health, community-oriented primary care (COPC), health systems, and health policy.  This directory does not include global health training.

Note that other programs may integrate public health content into their core curricula (e.g. lecture series for all residents) or offer clinical training at community-based health centers.

Click on the "Public Health Training Workbook" button below to go to the Public Health Training Directory.  This Excel workbook has two worksheets.  The first lists the "longitudinal public health training programs". The second lists the "brief elective training opportunities".
