2027 Call for Nominations

Help shape the future of SGIM by identifying and nominating dedicated, effective leaders who reflect the full range of our members’ interests, expertise, and backgrounds. Leadership within our Society offers a unique opportunity to influence the direction of our field and contribute meaningfully to its advancement.

This year, we are seeking self-nominations OR colleague nominations for the following positions:

  • President-Elect
  • Treasurer-Elect
  • Two At-Large Council Members
  • One Associate Council Member

Position Details & Qualifications

All nominees must be current SGIM members and should demonstrate the following:

  • Commitment to SGIM's mission: A clear track record of advancing SGIM's mission to cultivate innovative educators, researchers, and clinicians in academic general internal medicine—leading the way to better health for everyone.
  • Active engagement with the Society: We welcome nominations of individuals who exemplify this commitment through mentoring, participation in career development programs, volunteer leadership, and consistent involvement in Society events.
  • Reliability as a volunteer: A proven history of follow-through and dependability in prior volunteer roles.
  • Excellent communication skills: The ability to represent SGIM's mission and values clearly and effectively.
