SGIM Submission Policy

If the submission has not been accepted or published before the SGIM submission deadline, it remains eligible. Unfortunately, if it has already been accepted or published before the deadline, it would not qualify. Proposals still under review at the time of the SGIM submission deadline, even if later accepted or published before the meeting, are still eligible for presentation.

How to submit

Access the Northwest Regional Meeting submission site on ScholarOne®.

  1. For new ScholarOne users: Create a username and password.
  2. Existing users: Log in with your current credentials. If you forgot your password, use the "Forgot Password" option for recovery. If your email has changed, email regions@sgim.org to receive updated login details.
  3. Complete all required fields, including questions about external funding.
  4. There's a 5,000-character limit across all input fields. Monitor your word count in the yellow box on each form.
  5. Your submission may NOT be eligible for acceptance until all of your co-authors have completed their disclosures of relevant financial relationships. Once your submission has been submitted, all co-authors will receive a notification email with instructions on how to submit their disclosures. You will be copied on reminder emails to co-authors who are missing disclosures that will begin after the submission deadline.

Volunteer to Peer Review

Reviewers are an essential part of the meeting process in accepting abstracts. We ask our reviewers to read and score submissions, ultimately helping the committees to accept submissions or not. The review period will open on October 31, with final scores due to SGIM on November 10.

You do not have to be an SGIM member or a part of the region to review. This reviewer volunteer opportunity is open to faculty and fellows only. Residents should wait to apply until their training is complete.
