Dataset Summary
The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP) is a large, risk-adjusted, multi-center registry of surgical cases collected from more than 700 participating hospitals.
NSQIP captures detailed preoperative risk factors, intraoperative variables, and 30-day postoperative outcomes across surgical specialties. The registry is designed to benchmark institutional performance and drive surgical quality improvement through standardized, risk-adjusted outcome metrics.
Caveats
- Access requires a Data Use Agreement (DUA) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval.
- Data are generally available only to participating hospitals or through a formal data request process.
- Substantial participation or access fees may apply.
- Outcomes are limited to 30-day postoperative follow-up.
