Biography

Dr. Ryan Abe (she/her) is a Clinical Instructor in the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle and works clinically as an academic hospitalist at UW-Montlake. She is originally from Virginia and completed her undergraduate degree at Duke University, went to medical school at the University of Virginia, completed her Internal Medicine residency at UW, and was an inpatient chief resident at UW Medical Center. Her academic interests are in teaching, mentorship, and health equity education and she loves working and learning with residents and medical students. She co-created and now directs the Health Equity Pathway for the Internal Medicine residency program at UW and is a College Mentor in the School of Medicine. She currently serves as the DEI Chair for the Northwest region of SGIM.
