Biography
Dr. Richard H. Cartabuke was born in Syracuse, New York and received his Bachelors of Arts in History, Bachelors of Science in Biology and Masters of Arts in History from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He obtained his medical degree at State University of New York – Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He completed his residency and chief residency training at Cleveland Clinic. He completed an advanced fellowship in medical education at Cleveland Clinic.
His general internal medicine practice consists of primary care, hospital-based medicine, and executive health. Currently, he serves as the inpatient team lead for his hybridized primary care practice. He completed the TEACH program through the Society for General Internal Medicine (SGIM) in 2019. He served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Midwest region of SGIM from 2018-2020.
He was awarded the Kaiser Permanente Excellence in Teaching for his work with medical students in 2024.
In addition to his general medicine practice, he serves as the medical director for HealthNetwork Foundation and on the regional board for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
