Biography

Olubunmi (“Bunmi”) Olarewaju, DO, earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011 and completed her internship and residency in the Combined Emergency and Internal Medicine program at Aria Health (now Jefferson Health Northeast) in Philadelphia.

Dr. Olarewaju is a Teaching Hospitalist and Emergency Medicine Physician and serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. In 2021, she was appointed Associate Program Director for both the Combined Emergency/Internal Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency Programs, overseeing the internal medicine didactic curriculum and chairing the Clinical Competency Committee.

She has served on the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee and chairs the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. In 2016, she received the Evelyn D. Witkin Memorial Award for excellence in teaching and mentoring. Her professional interests include resident education, wellness, quality improvement, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within SGIM.
