Biography

Mark Troyer, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at The Ohio State University. He earned his MD at the University of Virginia and MPH at the Ohio State University. He completed Internal Medicine residency through the Global Health and Underserved Populations Track at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Troyer has served in key educational roles, including course director, Primary Care Track director, and Associate Program Director. He is a highly regarded educator, recognized with numerous teaching awards, including OSU College of Medicine Professor of the Year (2023) and OSU Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Teacher of the Year (2025). Dr. Troyer’s scholarship is rooted in his clinical work providing primary care for refugee and medically underserved populations. His work has led to numerous educational innovations and peer-reviewed publications in the areas of migration health and the mitigation of social determinants of health.
