Biography
Dr. Asantewaa Ture is an Assistant Professor of General Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She also serves as Health Equity/Advocacy Co-Leader for Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and Internal Medicine Core Faculty for Northwestern’s Internal Medicine Residency Program with a focus on community engagement. She completed Internal Medicine residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was selected as the Health Equity/Advocacy & VA chief resident for 2023 – 2024. She has won several teaching awards and received the John E. Franklin Commitment to Diversity Award in June 2024. She is the team leader for Northwestern’s Department of Medicine Annual Winter Coat Drive that collects coats for people experiencing homelessness. She is also the course director for the Feinberg School of Medicine interactive module, “Do Words Matter: The Use of Stigmatizing Language in Medicine.” She has volunteered with multiple organizations, including Ronald McDonald House, Rush University, Community Health Clinic, and Franciscan Outreach.
