Biography
Dr. Paranjape is Chair of the Department of Medicine at Denver Health and Professor and Vice Chair for the Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. After obtaining her medical degrees from the University of Pune in India, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Rochester, followed by a two-year GIM fellowship with a concurrent MPH from Boston University. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, an alumna of the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine fellowship, and a past President of ACLGIM. Her research has focused on health disparities, with much of her studies occurring at the nexus of family violence, patient perceptions of health, and aging in urban minority female patients. Her academic interests outside of research include mentoring women in medicine, for which LKSOM recognized her with the 2018 Women in Medicine Award.
