SGIM is seeking an Associate Director for the Leadership in Health Policy Program (LEAHP). The LEAHP program develops SGIM members to be effective and active health policy advocates and local health policy experts, leaders, and teachers through a year-long longitudinal career development program including mentorship, webinars, journal clubs, and two Capstone projects. LEAHP graduates have gone on to publish educational curricula and articles/books on policy as well as assume a variety of leadership roles at both SGIM and at their institutions. https://www.sgim.org/advocacy-policy/
The Associate Director position will work alongside the Program Director of LEAHP to manage the program. This three-year position will begin in January 2026 and extend through January 2029 with the possibility of transitioning to the Program Director position at that time. Responsibilities include program administration, coordinating mentor/mentee relationships, organizing and managing monthly scholar webinars, and other activities (including mentorship of 1-2 LEAHP scholars per year). The time commitment varies between 5-10 hours a month and includes monthly LEAHP leaders calls, monthly webinars with scholars, bi-monthly mentor meetings, and small administrative duties. The LEAHP Associate Director will also sit on the Health Policy Executive Committee. Success in this role requires: consistent responsiveness, timely meeting of deadlines, and proactive coordination with mentors, scholars, and SGIM staff.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior participation in the LEAHP program, health policy committee, or other advocacy work; and
- Evidence of engagement as a program leader, mentor, or health policy educator, either at your own institution, within SGIM, or at another professional organization.
- Preference will be given to those who have participated in a health policy-focused education program and/or have curriculum-building experience.
The Letter of Intent should be no more than two pages and should address the following:
- Reason for wanting to become LEAHP Associate Director;
- Prior experience with health policy/advocacy development; and
- Your specific areas of interest with regard to program administration and
