Congress is Back in Session
Lawmakers have just over two weeks to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government and extend key healthcare programs by September 30. House Republicans advanced their fiscal year (FY) 2026 House Appropriations Committee Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (Labor-HHS) spending bill out of the full committee last week. The Senate Appropriations Committee advanced their Labor-HHS bill before the August recess.
