What’s in the President’s FY 2026 Budget Request?

On May 30, the Office of Management and Budget released additional details of the fiscal year (FY) 2026 President’s Budget Request. The proposed budget includes significant reductions in health funding, including the elimination and consolidation of some critical programs and activities.

The Administration proposes to fund the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) at $94.7 billion for FY 2026, a reduction of more than $31 billion from current funding levels. Below are more details on how that funding would be allocated across the department:
