What Health Policies Are In and Out of the GOP Reconciliation Package

At press time, Senate Republicans are expected to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the legislation advancing President Trump’s domestic agenda. According to a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimate of the Senate version of the bill, it would increase the deficit by $3.3 trillion over the next decade. The Senate bill includes significant changes from what passed out of the House last month, mainly to appease GOP holdouts and comply with the Byrd rule, which requires that all the bill’s provisions are sufficiently related to the budget.
