We are pleased to announce the Call for Applications for the Annual Southern SGIM Leadership Development Award. This award aims to support early career faculty in enhancing their leadership skills and fostering a deeper connection with Southern SGIM. Awardees are expected to attend and actively participate in the Southern SGIM Regional Meeting. Participation will vary according to each awardee’s interests and strengths and may involve activities like session moderation, vignette judging, and mentoring. Additionally, awardees will gain further leadership development opportunities by serving on the planning committee for the 2024 Southern SGIM meeting.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Must be a current SGIM member.
  2. Active involvement in Southern SGIM, evidenced by attendance or presentation at the regional meeting at least once in the past five years.
  3. Interest in escalating involvement in SGIM regional leadership, without prior experience in an SGIM leadership role.
  4. Typically, awardees will be current faculty at or below the Assistant Professor level. However, mid-career faculty who are newly active in Southern SGIM are also encouraged to apply.

Please note, all nominees must be SGIM members. Self-nominations by eligible individuals are welcome.
