The Society of General Internal Medicine invites nominations to honor mid-level and senior members of Regional SGIM for their significant contributions to SGIM and their role in advancing generalism. This award aims to acknowledge the achievements of mid-level and senior-level SGIM members and encourage their ongoing engagement and contributions to the regional SGIM. Awardees will be honored at the regional SGIM meeting.
Eligibility for the Award for Leadership: This award targets current SGIM members who have been active in regional SGIM for at least 8-10 years, though there is no strict minimum membership duration. Eligible candidates include researchers, educators, clinicians, and administrators.
Criteria for Selection: Nominees should ideally meet the following criteria:
- Significant contributions to the mission of SGIM.
- Work that is acknowledged for advancing academic general internal medicine.
- Active involvement and support in SGIM regional activities.
Suitable examples of nominees include individuals recognized as role models and educators in their institutions, those in prominent leadership or administrative roles, researchers contributing to the advancement of generalism, and individuals who have shown leadership in academic pursuits or organizations that bolster academic general internal medicine.
