In addition to the four Rs (used by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) – Realize, Recognize, Respond, and Resist re-traumatization, the presenters will add Resilience and Regulation.
Learning Objectives:
- Define trauma and trauma-informed care
- Identify the 4 Rs of a trauma-informed approach
- Describe three ways to support a patient who has just disclosed a trauma
- Describe three ways to adapt the physical exam to avoid re-traumatizing a patient
