This is a recorded session from the SGIM 2025 Annual Meeting in Florida.
After a carefully structured review of the literature, the authors have presented the most important practice-changing articles on primary care topics from the previous year. The presentation is case-based and interactive, with a focus on the application of the evidence to everyday outpatient practice. To introduce each article, the presenters share a brief case to illustrate the clinical question addressed, summarize the key points and present a critical analysis of the evidence, and then give their conclusion regarding the impact of the article on practice and how to apply the evidence to the case presented, as well as care in the outpatient setting.
- Identify important practice-changing articles on primary care
- Describe the results and limitations of the studies presented
- Assess knowledge of common medical problems referenced in studies presented
- Evaluate the methodology of selected articles to ascertain the potential impact on practice
