This is a recorded session from the SGIM 2025 Annual Meeting in Florida.
Primary Care providers provide the majority of mental health care in the United States. Given the prevalence and impact of mental health conditions, all internal medicine physicians must be prepared to screen for, diagnose, and manage or co-manage common mental health conditions in their practice. This session will review the latest evidence in mental health, focusing on conditions and interventions most relevant to the general internist. In addition to a comprehensive search of published articles, presenters will review and discuss any impact on clinical guidelines.
- Appraise key guideline updates and primary literature in mental health care from the past two years
- Discuss the application of key guidelines updates and primary literature in mental health care to your clinical practice
- Discuss the role of general internal medicine physicians in directly delivering the latest advances in mental health care
