This is a recorded session from the SGIM 2025 Annual Meeting in Florida.
Innovation and scholarship in medical education have paralleled broader social trends, including a focus on racial justice and advocacy, evolving workplace norms, the changing climate’s impact on health, and the adoption of new technology for education and patient care, all of which general internists are uniquely positioned to
address. In line with the meeting theme, the 2025 Update in Medical Education will highlight publications that explore these trends and provide tools for innovation and adaptation. We will seek articles that address competency-based education, professional identity formation, inclusive learning environments, precision education, emerging technology, education related to planetary health, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
- Evaluate educational innovations that teach learners how to navigate and improve our complex health structures
