Course Description

This is a recorded session from the SGIM 2025 Annual Meeting in Florida.

State anti-DEI bills are a growing threat to medical education, medical research, and patient care.  This session provides an overview of the scope of anti-DEI bills, which span restrictions of DEI offices, DEI training, diversity statements, and identity-based recruitment.  Panelists will share their experiences of how anti-DEI laws have affected their work and highlight problem-solving approaches to maintaining and growing justice-focused scholarship amidst these laws. Panelists will also strategize how to maintain a professional identity and continue to develop academic work.
