Background
Inaugurated in 2013, the ACLGIM Leadership Award celebrates leadership skills across various academic medicine areas, including clinical, educational, research, or administrative efforts. The award recipient is acknowledged at the SGIM annual meeting.
SGIM, but especially ACLGIM, is not only my academic home, it is my academic family. A group of leaders across GIM who are universally invested in improving the lives of all patients, supporting each other, and ensuring the field of GIM continues to grow and thrive. From my first ACLGIM meeting in 2016, I have been in awe of the people in this organization. This leadership award, given by those I admire most in my field, is a highlight of my career.
