VA Partnered REsearch PRogram

SGIM’s VA Partnered Research Training Program provides research-trained junior investigators with foundational knowledge and skills for engaging healthcare operations and/or policy leaders when designing, conducting and disseminating research and evaluation projects to meet practice, program and policy information needs and optimize impact on the healthcare system.

 

Who Should apply

Junior doctoral-level (e.g., MD/DO, PhD, PsyD) investigators who are within five years of finishing fellowship or post-doctoral training or in their final year of this training and have a confirmed VA and/or university investigator appointment that will start prior to September 2025.

SGIM continues its journey to becoming an anti-racist society committed to promoting and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion as a strategic priority. A diverse panel of reviewers will give all applicants equal consideration.

Program Highlights

  • Lectures: Learn from experts in the field to effectively partner with program and operations leaders
  • Peer Mentoring: Engage in a small group of other trainees to discuss project-based exercises, facilitated by a seasoned investigator
  • Professional Mentoring: Receive 1:1 mentorship from an experienced investigator
  • Networking: Become part of a growing network of training participants and mentors
