2024 SGIM Northwest Regional Meeting
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS


Five distinct types of submissions may be submitted for peer review that address areas of clinical/scientific interest to generalists:

  • Workshops (60-minute format): Promote knowledge bases and enhance professional development. More information Here
  • Scientific Abstracts: Report the results of original research, contain data and research results. More information Here
  • Clinical Vignettes: Discuss patient-related cases and scenarios of educational value for a wider audience. More information Here
  • Innovations: Describe medical practice innovations, quality improvement projects, or educational innovations. More information Here
  • Arts & Humanities: Submissions of visual art (hand or computer-generated), fiction or non-fiction narrative, and poetry pertinent to general internal medicine. More information Here
  • Teaching Competition: This is a unique opportunity to showcase your skills as an educator to the SGIM regional audience. This submission type is open to medical students, trainees, and junior faculty to show off their teaching skills. More information Here
    You do not need to be a member of SGIM to submit. We strongly encourage submissions from students, residents, and fellows!

    Submission Fees:

    $15 for Trainees and $50 for Faculty

    *Trainees are defined as Fellows, Residents, and Medical Students

    ScholarOne® is the online submission website for the 2024 Northwest SGIM Regional Meeting

    • Enter all required information, including your responses to the questions regarding external funding.
    • Create your username and password
    • There is a word count limit of 5,000 characters for all input fields for all submission types. Please reference the yellow box at the top of each submission form in ScholarOne for your total word count as you create your submission.

    Please Note:

    Your submission may NOT go into peer review until all of your co-authors have completed their disclosures of relevant financial relationships. Once your submission has been submitted, all co-authors will receive a notification email with instructions to submit their disclosures. You will be copied on reminder emails to co-authors who are missing disclosures that will begin after the submission deadline.

    Suppose all co-authors on your submission have not yet completed their disclosures after multiple attempts to contact them. In that case, we will notify you prior to the RSVP deadline, and you will have the choice to remove them as co-authors or withdraw your submission.


    Already have a Scholar One Account?

    • If you already have an account with ScholarOne (and your email address has not changed since your account was established), you can log in to the system with your previously set up username and password. 
    • If you have an account but are unsure of your password, click on the Forgot Password link on the right side of the screen of the submission site, and your password will be emailed to you.
    • If your email changed since your account was established, contact the SGIM Office at regions@sgim.org to update your account with your new email address.  You will be sent your username and a link to reset your password.
    • Verify all information and/or complete any missing Disclosure Information.
