This free content on Hypertension is one module of a soon-to-be-released asynchronous series on Advanced Topics in Hypertension. This curriculum was originally developed to teach internal medicine residents at Yale New Haven Hospital in response to findings that residents were confident and well-trained in basic hypertension topics but less confident in advanced topics of hypertension. For this live event, the team from Yale will discuss managing hypertension in the outpatient setting. Participants will be asked to complete a pre- and post-survey.

Given the prevalence of hypertension in the United States, the content of this session is highly relevant to outpatient general internists. Plan now to join us on March 22, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:30 pm ET.

Learning Objectives
  • Outline an appropriate diagnostic workshop for secondary hypertension based on the most common causes and diagnoses suggested by clinical clues
  • List the diagnostic criteria for hypertension and lifestyle modifications and medication classes that are most effective in treating hypertension
