 Oral Presentation Instructions

  • Presentations must be prepared and submitted in PowerPoint format.  Other formats (Word, ZIP drive, etc) WILL NOT be accepted.
  • Oral Presentations (Scientific Abstract, Innovation, Plenary): The total time allotted for each presentation is 12 minutes: 10 minutes for your prepared  presentation followed by up to 2 minutes of Q&A.  Time limits will be strictly adhered to.
  • Oral Presentations (Clinical Vignettes): The total time allotted for each presentation is 12 minutes: 10 minutes for your prepared  presentation followed by up to 2 minutes of Q&A.  Time limits will be strictly adhered to.
  • Oral Presentations (Unknown Clinical Vignette): The total time allotted for your presentation is 30 minutes:Further details regarding your time schemes will be given to you by the Committee Chairs.

Poster Presentations Instructions

  • The poster board provided by SGIM measures 4’ in height x 8’ in length. Your poster must be able to fit on the board. We suggest you make the dimensions of your poster smaller than the board to allow for an easier visual accompaniment to your presentation.
  • Review panels for your respective submission category will be present to judge your poster presentation for the Best Poster in each category. It is advised that you stand next to your poster for the duration of the session, or until the reviewers have seen your work.
  • Push pins will be available for use. If your display does not hang easily on the corkboard with push pins, please have the materials you need to make it work (tape, rubber bands, scissors, etc).
  • Please remove your poster completely from the board, even if you do not wish to keep it. Any posters left after this time will be disposed of accordingly by the facility’s staff. SGIM is not responsible for materials left in the poster session area, nor will we hold your poster at Registration at any time during the conference.

  • Poster numbers will be posted online andon the mobile app leading up to the meeting. SInce participants fluctuate, please the numbers will be relased the week of the meeting so keep confusion and changes to a minimum.

Poster Session
       Setup Time: 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
       Presentation Time: 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
       Teardown Time: 6:30 pm - 7:00pm

 

Presenter Registration Instructions

  • Each presenter, speaker, and attendee must register in order to attend and present their work!  Acceptance of your submission is not automatic registration to the meeting.
  • Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate any dietary restrictions made onsite.  Please be sure to specify any requirements during online pre-registration.
  • Guests are not permitted in sessions during the meeting unless arrangements have been made in advance with the national office. A fee will be charged for additional guests attending any meal function.
  • Online Registration deadline is on Friday, February 3, 2018. Fees associated with the meeting can be found on the Southern Registration Page.
  • All cancellations and requests for refunds must be received in writing by Friday, January 20, 2018 SGIM refunds your registration minus a 50% cancellation fee. No refunds will be granted for cancellations received after January 25, 2018.
  • Online Registration will remain open through the meeting. Early-bird Registration will close on January 31, 2018. You may register online and avoid the lines up unitl February 24, 2018.
  • Registration will be available onsite during the following hours: Thursday, February 22, 2018: 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm; Friday, February 23, 2018: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm; Saturday, February 24, 2018: 7:00 am - 11:00 am.
