Geriatrics Task Force

The SGIM Geriatrics Task Force was created in 2006.  Its members work to achieve the following goals:

  1. Promote Career and Leadership Development at SGIM's Annual Meeting, which includes funding the Distinguished Professor of Geriatrics Program
  2. Promote the measurement and evaluation of geriatric competencies for medical students and residents to increase knowledge of and interest in geriatrics among trainees
  3. Facilitate geriatrics clinical care and teaching among SGIM members
  4. Promote clinical care, teaching, and research related to overlapping responsibilities of hospitalists and ambulatory care physicians related to the care of older patients
  5. Complement the work of other groups through regular communication and joint projects when feasible
