Speaker's Bureau

Mid-Atlantic Regional Meeting

2009 Speaker's Bureau

Hello Fellow SGIM members!

As a reminder to everybody, the primary purpose of this speaker's bureau is to provide speaking opportunities to help junior faculty attain the regional reputation helpful in the promotions process and to help more senior faculty gain additional exposure. While honoraria are built into some of the programs to which you may be invited, the existence or amount of honoraria should not be the main criteria in your decision to accept a speaking engagement. That said, you may expect reasonable reimbursement for travel expenses or some accommodation for time away from work, particularly if it involves an overnight stay.

I'd appreciate hearing about your speaking activity in the past year so I can provide an update at the upcoming regional meeting. If you have any particularly good or poor feedback about your experiences, please share that as well.

Here's to a successful 2009 speaking season!
