Regional Meetings

Regional involvement provides members with SGIM benefits at the local level, including opportunities to network; learn; showcase and share research, teaching methods, and aspects of patient care; and develop leadership skills. The regions each have their own unique composition and character, which is reflected in the ways they meet their members’ needs.

California SGIM is comprised of California and Hawaii. The next meeting will be held in San Francisco, CA over the dates of November 19-21, 2010 in collaboration with the regional ACP chapter.

Mid-Atlantic SGIM
Is comprised of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, and Washington, DC, and typically holds a one-day spring meeting. The most recent meeting was on March 5, 2010 at NYU.

Midwest SGIM
Is comprised of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, and typically holds a two day meeting in the fall. The 2010 meeting dates are September 23 & 24, 2010 at The Gleacher Center in Chicago, IL.

Mountain West SGIM
Is comprised of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. This year, the group will hold a one-day meeting on October 1, 2010 in Denver, CO.

New England SGIM
Is comprised of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, and typically holds a one-day spring meeting. The most recent meeting concluded on April 2, 2010 at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, RI.

Northwest SGIM
Is comprised of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. The next meeting date will be on February 4, 2011 in Portland, OR.

Southern SGIM
Is comprised of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia, and typically holds a three-day meeting. The next meeting will be held over the dates of February 17-19, 2011 in New Orleans, LA.
