JGIM Editorial Board

The JGIM Editorial Board has the following responsibilities:

a. Serve as advisors to the JGIM Editors--an independent group--about strategic planning and potential conflicts of interest. This will involve review of the Editors’ annual report about accomplishments, challenges, and plans. The Board conveys input to the Editors through oral and written forms of communication, including at least one annual meeting coinciding with the national SGIM Meeting, conference calls at least once every three months, and e-mail or fax communications as needed. The Board also submits a written report to the Communications Committee.

b. Make recommendations to the Communications Committee regarding major decisions, such as selection of a new publisher or Editor. The Board reports its recommendations about the JGIM Editor to the SGIM Council. The Board recently pursued a search for a new JGIM Editor to start later this year.

c. Oversee the financial performance of JGIM, and report to the Communications Committee. The Chair of the Communications Committee (or a designee) presents the Board’s report to the SGIM Council.  Oversight includes an annual review of the Editors’ proposed budget for the ensuing year, and annual review of the publisher’s budget. Oversight may also be needed for external funding of JGIM supplements.
