Clinical PracticeWelcome to the Clinical Practice Main Page The SGIM mission is “to promote improved patient care, research, and education in primary care and general internal medicine.” To this end, the organization is divided into three content areas that correspond with our mission’s pieces. The Clinical Practice arm of SGIM is comprised of the Clinical Practice Committee and various other task forces and work groups that help develop new material geared toward clinical practice goals in the field of general internal medicine. Clinical Practice Committee describes the committee's goals, subcommittees, and leaders. Resources provides links to useful clinical references, such as regarding coding, chronic disease management, consultative medicine, quality improvement, and clinical guidelines. Update in GIM provides the latest key GIM references from the Annual Meeting. EBM describes goals of the Evidence-Based Medicine movement and task force. Geriatrics describes the geriatrics task force and interest group. Women's Health Task Force provides information about the task foce projects and membership. Routine HIV testing summarizes CDC recommendations and provides key points about HIV testing. Awards summarizes SGIM's awards program. Interest Groups provides a list of interest groups related to clinical practice, along with links to the groups' resources.
