The VA North Texas Health Care System’s (VANTHCS) Dallas Addiction Leadership Training (DALT) is designed to develop our future clinical, academic, and administrative leaders in the addiction field. The DALT is one of only seven sites selected for a VA-funded Interprofessional Advanced Fellowship in Addiction Treatment. A physician and psychologist will spend at least 75% of their time on a mentored project of particular interest and relevance to the fellow’s future goals and will be mentored by VANTHCS/UT Southwestern Medical Center faculty. The program will emphasize specialized leadership training. The fellowship is open to recent graduates as well as mid-career applicants. The VANTHCS is the second largest VA in the country. Addiction-related areas of focus available to fellows include brain imaging, health services, infectious disease, trauma, homelessness, epidemiology, suicide prevention, ethics, teaching, and administration. A high degree of collaboration with other faculty at the UT Southwestern and surrounding institutions maximize the potential opportunities for scholarship. Classes in the UT Southwestern Clinical Translational and Research Scholar Program are freely available to all fellows. Qualifications: 1) completion of an ACGME accredited residency program, 2) a full, unrestricted license to practice in the U.S., 3) be board-certified or -eligible with demonstration of active pursuit of board certification, 4) U.S. citizenship or H1/J1, 5) must have evidence of ECFMG certification, if appropriate. The first class will begin in July, 2014. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until positions are filled.
