Fellows are offered an opportunity to combine didactic training in health services research with individualized, interdisciplinary research guided by a team of mentors and program faculty. Fellows will have the opportunity to acquire foundational training in (1) core health services research methods, (2) implementation science and systems redesign, and (5) research in collaboration with operational partners. Fellows can pursue more advanced training in through concentrations in (1) implementation science and system redesign, with emphases on organizational innovation for value production, or (2) high value care, with emphases on health economics, outcomes research, clinical decision making, and health policy. These include (1) fostering high value medical specialty care for chronic disease, with an emphasis on heard disease, cancer, complex comorbidities, geriatric disorders, and corresponding interventions; (2) fostering high value mental health care, with an emphasis on substance use disorders and their treatment; and (3) advancing methods to assess and improve value, with a focus on organization and delivery of services, diagnostic assessment, screening, clinical decision-making, cost effectiveness, and health care evaluation methodology.
